Our team is made up of students from the Iowa City school district, including Iowa City West High School, City High School, Liberty High School, and Regina. We welcome students 9th-12th grade. Contact us at email@example.com if you are interested in joining our team.
We have professional engineers and specialists in the STEM field volunteering to mentor our team. These include teachers from the school district and engineers from Rockwell Collins and Kirkwood Community College. Contact us if you are interested in being a mentor for our team.
Team 167 holds meetings at the Kirkwood Regional Center in Coralville every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. during the build season. Off-season meetings are announced roughly a week in advance. We compete in two regional competitions every year.
During the off season, our team travels to various schools, fairs, businesses, and events to show off our robot and teach kids about STEM. We have been featured in the Iowa State Fair, the Coralville Children’s Museum, and also run an educational robotics camp for kids 4th-6th grade. Contact us if you are interested in having our team come to your event or location.
We would not be able to function without the generous donations and support of our sponsors. They have helped to inspire futures in STEM careers and spread awareness about STEM in our community. We thank them all for their generous support.
If you are unable to directly support Team 167, volunteering at the various regionals is also an option. Alumni of our team, parents, and anyone interested in STEM are all welcome to volunteer at FIRST events.
